Five days ago I got this email:


composer

one who synthesizes text with pitches and emotions with souls. takes words written by a person in another time and another place and applies them to himself, taking defined emotions thus created and attempting to forge them into sounds, thus communicating with singers who will create the sounds which should embody emotions and communicate to listeners who will experience the emotions of the composer and the singers. composer channels emotion and spirit to souls through notes based on words. composers should trust words and use them as they were intended, for that is how composer experienced in the the first place.

define: poet.

I replied with this:

poet

has the job of putting human emotion into text. utilizing meter, sound, meaning, tone, rhyme, and poetic structure, poet records the actions, feelings, and words of both the experienced and imaginable. language is
both a reflector and dictator of human experience; therefore, poet captures individual stills of human life in her text through the way she arranges each letter, each syllable, each word, each phrase. poet should create work that is both tailored to every one-of-a-kind reader, yet personable to all. poet should never use cliches unless to serve a purpose and should always write the ideology in a pure form.
